Cartography: "Digital Acoustic Cartography has attempted to map noise patterns of everyday objects and events - e.g. the closing of a car door. Essentially, the acoustic pattern resulting from an event is turned into a relief model of sound; this is combined with a photographic overlay of the noise maker. The result is a three-dimensional map of the object and its sound. The process is still experimental and, if nothing else, produces interesting images. The website offers a very short explanation of the process."
